Gardening Tools And Equipment
I want to start my own small business?
well.. I want to start my own small business.
I want to make a garden shop/nursery as well as sell gardening tools and equipment, gifts, cut flowers, etc.
I’ve been researching business plans and other parts of what goes into setting up a business.
but I still have a lot of questions.
Okay assume that I have made a detailed business plan (which it isn’t finished but I’m working diligently on it)
What then? I’ll definitely need to borrow money because I come from a very poor family and I do not have much money of my own.
Who do I go to or where do I go to register my business, what are the little details and legal things that I have to take care of first?
Thanks
Step 1: Register an LLC with in your state. Check online, you’ll find the paperwork. Typically, it will cost about $100.
Step 2: Register your Federal EIN Online (visit the IRS.Gov website)
Step 3: Open a Bank Account for the business at the local area bank
Step 4: Get Seed money. Friends, Saving your pennies, loans if you can… Any way you can get somebody to give you money to get going.. Step 4 will be your biggest challenge

Step 5: Find a place to do business. If its a garden center, you likely need a piece of land. I’d recommend just finding the cheapest 1/acre of land somewhere. Then buy a cheap type of Shed from home Depot as the business office/cash register, etc Drop that onto your 1/ac lot.
Step 6: Order all the supplies you plan on selling. Flowers, trees, Mulch, Dirt, you name it…
That is where most of your seed money will go. Into buying inventory to resell.
Step 7: Advertise, Advertise, Advertise.. You gotta find all types of creative ways to get your business name out there so people come to you and shop. Sponsor the local baseball team so your business name is on their game shirts. local newspaper, flyers in mailboxes, etc….
Step 8: Cross your fingers and hope people show up and start buying.
